To Winnie
 She was the
one.......that stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the pretty
gray and white puppies in the litter, with her raccoon coloring
and smudgy face.
She was the one.......that sat back and waited her turn because
her owner was foolish enough to believe those who said she would
never finish because of her color.
She was the one.......that never had a big specialty win, except
of course, for her Best in Futurity win at the Cleveland
Specialty many years ago. That was her day.
She was the one.......who had a look of utter humiliation when
forced to wear a devil costume for Halloween! But nevertheless
wagged her tail and had kisses to share for the little ones at
Children's Memorial Hospital.
She was the
one.......who passed along her outstanding temperament,
structure and movement to her beautiful children and
grandchildren, along with her habit of cocking her head to the
side when listening to
my voice.
She was the one.......who was my best friend when I needed one,
and who I will miss so very, very much.
She was the one.......
