The Schedule
| When your entry has been processed,
you will receive an acknowledgement from the Superintendent. This will
show your dog's name, owner's name and address, AKC number of the dog entered,
class that the dog is entered in and your armband number. If any of the
information such as names and registration numbers are wrong, you need to
contact the Superintendent to have a correction made. NOTE!
- Most important is the AKC number of the dog entered. If this
is incorrect, your dogs may not receive credit for his wins. Along with
the acknowledgement is a JUDGING SCHEDULE. The JUDGING SCHEDULE will have
some repeat information from the premium list, such as, show name, location,
directions, etc. It will also show the total number of dogs entered with
breakdowns for each individual breed. The SCHEDULE indicates the ring
number, the judges name, the total number of dogs under that particular judge
and the time and number of dogs for each breed. Below is a sample of a
portion of a judging schedule. Let's go over it one line at a time:
|
| The
first line shows that in Ring 6, Mrs. Jane Doe is judging a total of 52
dogs. At 9 AM is scheduled to begin judging with a total of 10 German
Shepherd Dogs. The numbers in parentheses (4-3-2-1) indicate that there
are 4 dogs, 3 bitches, 2 dog champions and 1 bitch champion for a total of 10.
Following the judging of the German Shepherd Dogs she will be judging a total of 4 Polish Lowland Sheepdogs. There is 1 dog and 3 bitches for a total of 4 Polish Lowland Sheepdogs. There are NO champions entered. This will be the situation until some of our dogs complete the requirements of a championship (see POINTS) After the judging of the Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, she will judge 8 Bearded Collies, 2 dogs, 2 bitches, 2 dog champions and 2 bitch champions. NOTE! - Judging CANNOT start before the posted time, however, it CAN start later than posted for various reasons. Judging schedules are set up based on 25 dogs per hour being judged. You can use this to help determine when your breed will be in the ring in the case of large entries. HOWEVER, you must consider that there could be dogs absent from judging. In the case above for example, if the 10 German Shepherd Dogs do not show up and are marked absent, the Polish Lowland Sheepdogs will be judged immediately. JUDGES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WAIT FOR ANY DOG! Most shows have large entries and judging must be kept on schedule. Most often, the order and time of the group judging is announced at the show. These times are based on the number of actual dogs present and the order in which they are judged. On to our next section POINTS!
